The free DOB map vs. FISP Radar

The DOB map tells you which buildings are open. FISP Radar tells you which of them are worth a call this week, and why. Both use the same public filings.

What each one answers

The Department of Buildings publishes a free map of the facade program and the filing status of every building. It is good, and we link to it. Here is what it shows and what the list adds, based on the public DOB tools and our own product.

When the free map is enough

Use the map if you check a few buildings

If you look up single addresses for clients who already called you, the DOB map and DOB NOW answer the question for free. There is no reason to pay for a list then.

When the list pays

Use the list if you look for new buildings

If you want to find buildings that are likely to choose a new firm this cycle - by prior firm, history and neighborhood - and work them as a team, the matching is the work. 82% of the buildings our rule rates A changed firm in the Cycle 8 to 9 back-test. See the back-test →
